Privacy Policy

Who we are
ClearBlock is provided by AdWizz Ltd (“we”, “us”). Contact: support@clearadblocker.com. Registered address: 8 Church Green East, Redditch, England, B98 8BP.
What this policy covers
This policy explains how we handle data for:
- the ClearBlock browser extension for Chrome and Edge, and
- the clearadblocker.com website and related pages (for example support, premium, refunds, and terms).
What we do (summary)
ClearBlock blocks ads and trackers using on-device rules. We do not collect or sell your browsing history, and we do not send full page content or a detailed log of the sites you visit to our servers.
Premium payments are processed by a third-party payment provider (currently Stripe). We receive order and licensing details so we can activate your Premium features — not your full card number or CVC.
Data we process
In the browser (extension)
- Local page processing: ClearBlock filters and changes page content in your browser in order to hide ads, popups, and tracking elements. This processing happens locally in your browser; we do not send full page content or a complete browsing history to our servers.
- No per-site URL logs sent to us: we do not build a server-side log of every URL you visit via the extension.
- Anonymous install & version counts: we may collect aggregate information such as how many installs are active and which extension version is in use, to understand adoption and plan updates. These metrics are not tied to your browsing history.
- Optional diagnostics/crash reports: if you choose to share diagnostics, we may receive technical information about errors (for example extension version, basic environment details, and a description of the issue). We use this only to investigate problems and improve ClearBlock.
- Premium licensing and device identifier: when you purchase Premium, we store order details (such as license key, plan, and status) together with a device identifier so we can enforce license limits (for example, one device per license). This identifier is used only for license management and fraud-prevention — not for tracking your browsing.
On our websites (clearadblocker.com)
- Server logs: like most websites, our servers automatically record requests. This may include your IP address, browser User-Agent, timestamp, URL, and referrer. We use these logs for security (for example detecting abuse), debugging, and basic usage insights.
- GeoIP currency: we may derive an approximate location (for example country) from your IP address at request time to display prices in a local currency. We do not use this to build individual profiles.
- Support and contact: if you email us or use a contact form, we process the information you provide (such as your email address and message) so we can respond and keep a record of issues.
Payments (Stripe / payment provider)
Payments are handled by our payment provider (currently Stripe). They act as our payment processor and handle card details on our behalf. We receive order-related information such as order ID, product or plan purchased, price, country, tax/VAT outcome, and license status so that we can fulfil your purchase, manage licenses, and handle refunds or support. We do not receive or store your full card number or CVC on our own servers.
Legal bases (GDPR)
- Contract: to provide the extension, deliver Premium features, manage licenses, and support your account.
- Legitimate interests: to maintain security and prevent abuse, keep high-level product metrics, show appropriate currency based on region, and improve ClearBlock.
- Consent: for optional diagnostics/crash reports and any non-essential cookies or similar technologies we may add in future.
Cookies and similar technologies
We aim to minimize our use of cookies and similar technologies.
Today, we may use strictly necessary cookies (for example, to remember that you closed a banner or to keep you signed in to a support area). These are not used for advertising profiles.
We do not currently use third-party analytics (such as Google Analytics) or advertising pixels on clearadblocker.com. If we add analytics, A/B testing, or advertising tools in future, we will update this policy and present a consent banner where required so you can make a choice.
Providers (processors/partners)
- Stripe (payments): processes card payments and subscription billing on our behalf and shares order/fulfilment information with us so we can activate and manage licenses. Card data is handled by Stripe.
- Hosting & infrastructure providers: used to run our website and APIs, send support replies, and store license metadata and server logs.
- Email and support tools: providers we use to receive and respond to support emails or contact form submissions.
Retention
- Server logs: typically kept for up to 30–90 days unless we need to keep them longer for security investigations, abuse tracking, or legal reasons.
- License and payment records: kept for as long as your license is active and for a reasonable period afterwards (for example to handle refunds, chargebacks, or accounting and tax obligations).
- Support emails and messages: kept for as long as necessary to manage your relationship with us and to improve our product, then archived or deleted.
- Opt-in diagnostics: kept only as long as needed to investigate and fix the related issue.
Security
We use industry-standard controls to protect data, including TLS encryption in transit, hardened infrastructure, and least-privilege access to systems. No method is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your data and review our measures periodically.
International transfers
Some of our providers may be located outside your country or region (for example in the UK, EU, or US). Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms agreed with our providers to protect your data.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your personal data, to object to some processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@clearadblocker.com. If you are in the UK or EEA, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
Children
ClearBlock is not directed to children under 13 (or the age required by your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy as our product or legal obligations change. When we do, we will update the “Effective date” above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice in the extension or on the website.
