Does it change my search engine or new tab?

No. ClearBlock respects your default search settings. It doesn’t replace your new tab or route queries elsewhere.

Will it break websites?

We aim not to. If a site needs ads to work, use the toolbar popup to pause on that site or switch to a relaxed mode (Premium).
